About the Architecture and Design Commission
The Architecture and Design Commission was established in February 2020 as one of 11 commissions under the Ministry of Culture. One of the Commission’s key objectives is to regulate the sector, including supporting and encouraging practitioners, organizing exhibitions and seminars, and stimulating creative thinking in the sector. The sub-sectors represented under the Commission include architecture, urban design and planning, and landscape architecture, as well as various design fields such as interior design, graphic design, and industrial design. Our role at the Commission is to achieve the goals of the Ministry of Culture and Vision 2030, and contribute to the national economy, through creating programs and initiatives to support Saudi architects and designers and enrich our national identity. The Commission also seeks to establish national companies and encourage investment in the field. This will contribute to creating job opportunities for qualified Saudis and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors.

The architecture and design sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is experiencing rapid growth, reflecting its rising role as a key driver of quality of life and sustainable urban development. Today, architecture and design have become essential elements in expressing national identity, improving the urban landscape, and building cities and communities that elevate the quality of life and achieve environmental sustainability in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 objectives
From this perspective, the Architecture and Design Commission Platform emerge as a strategic initiative aimed at empowering practitioners and enthusiasts in the sector and enhancing their professional and knowledge capabilities—through specialized development programs and modern professional standards that foster a more competitive, innovative, and impactful sector
The platform offers an integrated learning environment that combines specialized expertise with global best practices. It also helps cultivate an active professional community capable of advancing industry standards, keeping pace with rapid technological advancements, and contributing to the development of high-quality projects with a sustainable impact on people, environment, and society
